Qualifying patients* from 2nd October 2024 including:
- All people aged 65 years or over
- Chronic (long term) respiratory disease. eg severe asthma
- Chronic heart disease
- Chronic kidney disease at stage 3, 4 or, 5
- Chronic liver disease
- Chronic neurological disease
- Learning disability
- Diabetes
- Immunosuppression, weakened immune system
- Splenic dysfunction or asplenia
- Morbid obesity
- People living in long-stay residential care homes
- Carers
- Close contacts of immunocompromised
- Frontline and Social care workers

- Workers employed through Direct Payments

We’ll assess you for suitability and safety before we adminsiter the vaccination. This process usually takes 15 minutes.
You should usually get your flu vaccine between 2nd October 2024 and November. But if you missed that time, you can still have it anytime during the winter.
Yes. The flu vaccination will protect you only for the time being. If you got vaccinated last year, you should renew your vaccination this year too. This is because the virus that leads to flu is not standard.
Not really. You may encounter minor side-effects like a sore arm, slight fever, or muscle aches. If you do, take a painkiller and have some rest.
It depends on how unwell you feel. The pharmacist will postpone your appointment if your case is severe or resume your vaccination for minor illness or antibiotics.

- Those aged 65 years and over
- Those aged six months to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (as defined by the Green Book, chapter 19 (Influenza))
- Pregnant women
- All children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2023
- primary school aged children (from Reception to Year 6)
- All secondary school pupils in Years 7 to 11
- Those in long-stay residential care homes
- Carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person
- Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- Frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer-led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers and those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants
If you are NOT exempt from charges, you can still have a flu jab through our private service for just £20.
