One shot away from a safer winter

Flu Vaccination Service

Did you know that catching the flu causes 10,500 to 25,000 fatalities every year in the UK, as well as around 800,000 visits to GPs?

Even if you take precautions, not having your annual flu vaccination puts you at high risk of catching the virus.

๏ปฟYou do not want to struggle with severe sickness and unpleasant symptoms like high fever, dry coughs, aches, and more this winter.

One shot a year can save you money on consultations and treatments, suffering with severe side effects, and spreading the flu to a family member with weakened immunity.

I have used the services of this pharmacy recently and found it to be a most user friendly operation. The knowledgeable staff offer a friendly and efficient customer service. This pharmacy offers many services which others do not and is certainly a major asset both to the NHS and Letchworth Garden City.

FAQs

Do I need to book an appointment for my flu injection?

Booking a previous appointment will ensure you find a vaccination shot in stock and save you time in long queues. However, you can always try walk-in services. Our team will ensure you get the best out of your visit.

How long does this service take?

We'll assess you for suitability and safety before we adminsiter the vaccination. This process usually takes 15 minutes.

When is the best time to get vaccinated?

You should usually get your flu vaccine between October and November. But if you missed that time, you can still have it anytime during the winter.

Should I get vaccinated every year?

Yes. The flu vaccination will protect you only for the time being. If you got vaccinated last year, you should renew your vaccination this year too. This is because the virus that leads to flu is not standard.

Should I take avoid exertion afterwards?

Not really. You may encounter minor side-effects like a sore arm, slight fever, or muscle aches. If you do, take a painkiller and have some rest.

Should I still get my flu jab if I feel unwell?

It depends on how unwell you feel. The pharmacist will postpone your appointment if your case is severe or resume your vaccination for minor illness or antibiotics.

Can I get a flu jab and covid jab at the same time?

Yes, without any issues! Speak to our Pharmacy team for more advice.
